Nuclear Powered Ships
Sir,—On page 15 of “The Press” today we find a photograph of the United States cruiser Long Beach being commissioned. This photograph is boldly captioned the world’s first nuclear-powered surface ship. What about the Russian nuclear icebreaker Lenin,' which has been in commission for some months and about which . a film was shown recently in a Christchurch theatre? —Yours, etc., CREDIT WHERE DUE. September 15, 1961.
