Playing for the first time under its new name the Suburbs (formerly SunnysideSpreydon senior Rugby team) beat Tatahi Bay, 27-19, in a friendly fixture at Hagley Park cm Saturday. Tatahi Bay was two men short although it had five Suburbs players included. Suburbs had the better of the game, although Tatahi Bay led at half-time, 18-13. For Suburbs. V. Sykes (2). G. Wren. P. Harris (2), B. Metson, M. Blackwell scored tries. P. Owen converted three. L. Davies, G. Cox, R. Lester and C. Peachy scored tries for Tatahi Bay. A. Adams kicked a penalty goal and two conversions.
