Auckland Ceremony
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 17. Ten wreaths were laid at the Auckland Cenotaph this afternoon to mark the 21st anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The wreaths were laid in the presence of squadrons from the R.N.Z.A.F. stations at Whenuapai and Hobsonville. Brevet Club representatives and a squadron from the Auckland Air Training Corps. There was a fly-past by three R N.Z.A.F. Bristol fighters. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Government, and Armed Forces, the City of Auckland, the Royal Air Force, the Consular Corps, the Navy League, the Auckland Brevet Club, the North Shore Brevet Club, the Auckland R.S.A., the Gold Star Mothers' Club. Commemorative services were held at St. Mary’s Anglican Cathedral and at St John’s Roman Catholic Church, Parnell.
