Cracksman Not In Guineas
“The Pres*” Special Service AUCKLAND, Sept 3. Cracksman, an early fancy for the Avondale Guinea*, would not contest the big three-year-old event this week, said his owner, Mr J. F. Foully, after the colt won the Cornwallis Handicap at Avondale yesterday. In the Henderson Handicap, Cracksman won h:s second successive race but whether because of the stronger company, holding ground or the distance being a trifle short for him. he looked hardly as impressive as when he accounted for a maiden field brilliantly at Maiamata recently. ASHBURTON COUNTY RACING CLUB ' ACCEPTANCES ACCEPTANCES for the Spring Meeting to be held on September 9 will close with the Secretary. Ashburton, on Monday, the 4th Inst., at 4 p.m. J. B. NICOLL.
