WELLINGTON FIRE BOARD APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF FIRE OFFICER TO WELLINGTON FIRE BOARD Applications are invited for the position of Chief Fire Officer of the above Brigade. The successful applicant will be required to reside at tire Headquarters’ Station, Clyde quay. Wellington, and will be required to devote the whole of his time to the service of the Fire Board. Applicants must have had an extensive operational fire experience as an officer and possess a sound technical knowledge of: (1) Fire Engineering. Including Fire Prevention. (2) Communications and Alarm Systems. (3) Brigade Training. (4) Fire Brigade Administration. (5) Maritime fire risks appropriate to a major port. Candidates must also have a capacity for leadership, be of good personality, appearance, and be of suitable age. They must be experienced in the control of Permanent Brigade Staff, Auxiliaries, and Volunteer Firemen, and attendance at a Course(s) at the Fire Service Training School and possession of an Institution of Fire Engineers’ Diploma would be an advantage. Salary and terms of appointment will be in accordance with the Industrial Award at present in force, and conditions of service determined by the Fire Authority.
