Labour Week-eud Function A Maori mission convention. the first of its kind ever organised by the Anglican Church in the South Island will be conducted at Tuahiwi Pa during Labour weekend. To be addressed by Maori and pakeha Anglican church ; leaders from both islands, I the convention will be atten- | ded by about 200 io 300 Maoris from Maori communi- . ties throughout Canterbury land Westland. | Lectures, discussions and i other activities would aim to "deepen the spiritual life of the Maori people” and to bring an awareness of the place of religion in their lives, said a spokesman for the convention’s organising committee yesterday.
