Mr Justice Richmond left for Auckland yesterday. He will sit in the Supreme Court at Auckland for a fortnight. Mr Justice Turner will arrive in Christchurch from Auckland today and wild sit tn the Supreme Court here for a fortnight. Captain A. C. Kenning, who was recently appointed chief pilot by the National Airways Corporation, was. for the previous three years, engineering liaison officer and Viscount specialist captain at Harewood. Captain Kenning joined Cook Strait Airways in 1936. During the war he served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a flying instructor and subsequently with the Communications Squadron. He joined Union Airways in 1946, and transferred to the National Airways Corporation on its formation.

Dr. F. W. Gunz, haematologist to the North Canterbury Hospital Board, will leave New .Zealand on Thursday for Copenhagen, where he will be a member of an invitation 15-man group holding discussions on leukemia research. The group has been invited jointly by the Danish Cancer Registry and the National Cancer Institute of Washington. After the meeting, which will last three days. Dr. Gunz will visit laboratories in Edinburgh. London, and Boston before returning to Christchurch.

Mr W. M. Moloney, formerly of Christchurch, was recently elected president of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce. Queensland. Mr Moloney left New Zealand in 1923 for Australia and is now managing director of Far Northern Theatres. Ltd. He is the brother of Mr J K Moloney, of Christchurch. Mr R. H. Poynter has been appointed senior survey assistant of the North Canterbury Catchment Board.' He was formerly an engineer’s assistant with the board. Mr T. E. Skinner, vicepresident of the Federation of Labour, will leave Auckland on Monday for the annual conference of the Australian Council of Trades Unions in Sydney.
