Situation.—A shallow complex depression covers the northern Tasman Sea. An intense anti-cyclone is centred over the South Tasman Sea and a ridge of high pressure extends on to New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating on the coasts; some cloudy areas on the coast early, otherwise fine, but rather cold. Outlook: mainly fine. West Coast and Nelson.—Light or moderate variable winds, mainly easterlies; fine with moderate afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fine. Marlborough.—Fresh southerlies with a few scattered showers at first on the coast, otherwise moderate variable winds with fine weather predominating: cool day temperatures. Outlook: mainly fine.
