MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
Companion Badly Injured One man was fatally injured and another seriously injured in a collision between the motor-cycle they were riding and a car in Waimea terrace, Beckenham, about 4.55 p.m. yesterday. The man killed was: John Diver, of 223 Waimea terrace. He was admitted! to the Christchurch Hos-' pital with severe head injuries and shock, and died some hours later. The other. Gregory Daniel Lindsay, of 111 Fitzgerald avenue, suffered head and leg injuries and shock. Late last night he was on the seriously ill list at the Christchurch Hospital. The driver of the car was Leonard James Honeyman. of 71 Kingsley street; Dr. L. L. Pownall, Vicechancellor of the University of Canterbury, was elected the fourth life member of the New Zealand Geographical Society at the annual meeting of the society held at Palmerston North this week.
