POLICEMAN FOUND
Extensive U.S. Search Ends (NJI. Press Assn.—Copyngnt) LAMONI (Iowa), July 9. A two-day search over a 300-square mile area of southern lowa and northern Missouri for a missing lowa highway police patrolman ended late last night when the officer stumbled into a farmhouse near Lamoni. A spokesman for the lowa State Patrol said the patrolman, Robert Wilke, aged 31, was in a dazed condition and complained of "pains.” He was taken to a doctor’s office for examination. Authorities said preliminary reports from Wilke indicated that he had been abducted by three men early on Saturday. State police put out a “wanted” bulletin for three men driving in a blue and grey car. The incident was one of several in the United States in the week-end involving abductions and kidnappings. Patrolman Wilke had been reported missing by his wife. Search parties later found his patrol car, his empty gun belt and documents scattered along a quiet country road near the point where he had been last seen.
