Wanganui Club Exceeds £lm

For the first time in its history the Wanganui Jockey Club has exceeded £1 million in totaliisator turnover for one season The total turnover on the six days’ racing during the current season was £1,011,940 15s, and figures released today by the secretary (Mr E. T Scott) show the record is mainly because of increased off-course betting. The total on-course turnover of £396,453 10s represents an increase of only £6ll 10s on the corresponding figure for the 1959-60 season, but the off-course betting figure of £615.487 5s is up £36,364 ss. The over-all increase on last season's total is £36.925 15s.
