£10m Gold For I.M.F.

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 4. The New Zealand Government will have to contribute between £lom and £llm in gold if it decides to join the International Monetary Fund, according to official sources. The Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) said last night that under present draft proposals New Zealand's proposed quota on joining the fund would be £44,600,000 Under the fund’s rules 25 per cent, of the quota has to be paid in gold and the balance in the country’s own currency.
