The Solicitor-Ceneral (Mr H R. C Wild, Q.C.) left by air for Sydney today to attend the twelfth legal con. vent ion organised by the Law Council of Australia. Other New Zealand delegates to the convention are the vice-presi. dent of the New Zealand Law Society fMr S. W. Tong, Auckland) and Messrs D McGrath, J. B. O’Ryan and L. M. Papps, of Wellington. Mr G. C. A. Wall, who has been talks officer at Station 3YA since 1951 and producer of the National book review programe “Bookshop.” has been transferred to the head office of the Broadcasting Service in Wellington for duties in the talks department. Mr W. H. Cocker, who has retired as chancellor of the University of Auckland, was given a civic farewell on Monday. The Mayor of Auckland (Mr D. M. Robinson' said that Mr Cocker had served the university council for 28 years, for the last 23 years as president, and then as chancellor.—(P.A.) Mr W. C. Willis (Nelson' was re-elected chairman of the Process Growers’ Council of the New Zealand vegetable and Produce Growers’ Federation at the annua] conference of the federation yesterday. Mr F. H. Dodson (Marlborough) was re-elected vicechairman. Mr B. Vucinic, former Jugoslav Consul-General in New Zealand, has been appointed private secretary to Marshal Tito, a post he held before coming to New Zealand.
