French Rugby "A few weeks ago, France defeated Ireland by, I think, 23 to 8. After the match the Irish captain said: ‘This French side will defeat the All Blacks.’ Vivian Jenkins went over to Paris and in his story of the game said: ‘The French team ran like a pack of Macdonald Baileys. Their speed is terrific.’ It looks as if our New Zealand selectors are determined to stick to the heavy ‘bulldozing’ forwards as usual, who may be left flat-footed when the French players go into top gear. The famous Irish half, Andy Mulligan, at present in New Zealand, may be able to enlighten us on our chances, Thev look slim to me."—SIDELINE.
