Referee Complains To Union The management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last nr'.ght learned of a Beckenham Park ground where only one set of goalI posts was erected, and the . slightest touch sent the cross- ■ bar tumbling to the ground. ! The holes in the ground ! were too big for the other I set of posts, and several lOin by 6in hydrants were scattered about. The information was contained in a letter from the referee of a junior friendly game, in the circumstances, be said, he had decided to abandon the game. Both captains had agreed to this. As tire park is an Albion club ground, the committee resolved to write to the club drawing its attention to the state of the grounds and asking for the defects to be remedied by Saturday. Demonstration At Rugby Park A coaching demonstration by members of the Canterbury representative Rugby squad—with the selectors. Messrs P. K. Rihind and P. B. Mr Loveridge said the demonstration would start at 10.30 a.m. and would continue for about an hour and a half. Club coaches, officials and players were all welcome to attend, he said.
