N.Z. Frigate May Attend (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 1. Anti-submarine forces of three countries—Australia. Britain and New Zealand—will meet in the tropical Coral Sea to the north of Queensland from August 18 to 23 to take part in “Exercise Tuckerbox.” The Minister of Defence. Mr Eyre, said yesterday that New Zealand would send the new fast frigate H.M.N.Z.S. Otago. It would leave Auckland on August 8. and visit Brisbane from August 12 to August 15. Mr Eyre added that the exercise was designed to train the anti-submarine forces of the three countries and would simulate the passage of a convoy through a submarine area. A w'ide variety of ships would take part, including a carrier, cruiser, destroyers, frigates and submarines, as well as land and carrierbased aircraft, said the Minister.
