Press Association) HASTINGS, July X The judicial committee of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey: Club held an adjourned inquiry on Saturday Into a check received by Melody Man about a furlong and a half frotn the atari of the Winter Handicap on the first day of the meeting on June 34, They found no charge against any particular rider was warranted and took no further action. The judicial committee considered further the matter of D. J, Strawbridge’s suspension for the incompetent riding of Melody Man and confirmed their original decision that Strawbridge be suspended for incompetent riding. The suspension took effect at the end of Saturday’s racing and will end at 5 p.m. on July 12. Strawbridge had originally been suspended for the incompetent riding of Melody Man by the club's judicial committee on the first day of the meeting. The Hawke's Bay district committee annulled the suspension, on appeal by Strawbridge, pending a further inquiry. An inquiry was held after the Farewell Hack Handicap into why Flaxbourne (V. J. Sellars) left the stalls riderless. It was found that the starter’s attention had been drawn to Mark attempting to force his way through the gates. In the meantime Flaxbourne had attempted to get down on his haunches and Sellars had been preparing to dismount to enable Flaxbourne to recover. No action was taken.
