Charge Of Theft
(N.Z Prea Association) NELSON. July 2. Matthew Noel Richards, aged <3O. a clerk, of Featherston, was remanded in custody to appear at Wellington on July 8, when he appeared before Mr J. ' A. Harlev. Justice of the Peace, in the Nelson Magistrate's Court this morning on a charge that, between September 12. 1960, and March 27. 1961. having received sums of money for heavy traffic fees oaid to the Featherston Borough Council fraudulently omitted to account for £46 8s 4d and committed theft. Detective G Gilles said that Richards was arrested in Nelson yesterday, less than two and a half hours after a warrant for bi® arrest was issued in Masterton.
