June 30 Three Australians and a New Zealander have been granted awards under the' Royal Society and Nuffield Foundation Commonwealth bursaries scheme. Professor D. Walker, of Victoria University, will make a study of experimental research work with low energy Van de Graaff accelerators or simitar machines, and study the working of the National Institute for Nuclear Science in Britain, for eight months Cron, June. 1962. The other recipients of awards are Dr. D F. McMichael, curator of molluscs at the Australian Museum. Sydney; Dr. H. B S. Wornersley. reader in botany at the University of Adelaide: and Dr J. N. Phillips, of the C.S.IRO. division of ptant industry, Canberra.
