Murphy's Victory
Dion Murphy, the Canterbury light-weight boxer, beat the New Zealand champion, Peter Lister, on points in a preliminary bout to the main event at Wellington last Monday evening. Murphy scored a convincing victory, knocking Lister down in the third round for a compulsory eight count. This victory should ensure Murphy a place in the New Zealand test team to meet the Australians next month.
