COMMERCIAL Markets Weak At Close Of Week’s Trading
With falls outnumbering rises by three to one for both New Zealand and overseas shares the sharemarket was weak yesterday. The few rises were measured in pence; there were several falls of Is or more.
Crystal Ice, Henry Berry, Milburn, New Zealand Woolpacks and Colonial Sugar recorded sharpest drops of the day. Of the leading New Zealand issues, only South British Insurance, J. Watties Canneries, Ross and Glendining and Wilson Cement showed any improvement.
