CHILDREN’S BOOKS FROM RUSSIA
Prohibition Remit Lost (NZ Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 14. Children's books from Russia were scattered about the conference room when the Dominion executive of the National Council of Women discussed a remit from the Hamilton branch this evening. "That imports from Russia should not include literature for minora" wee the text of the remit. A great many children's books were produced in Russian and subsidised there, the meeting was told. As such literature might contain, a political slant and children could be exposed to it, the branch sought the support of the conference in the matter. The remit was lost.
