SALE OF BOOKS, EXAM. PAPERS
Big Collection Of Former Tutor
Thousands of books and examination papers owned by the late Mr J. Lester were eagerly sought by students at a special sale on Saturday. Mr Lester acted as a tutor to university and secondary school students for many years. Three thousand of his books were on sale at nominal prices. Many of them were priced at 6d. Students, who base part of their studying on the type of examination question they expect to find in the end-of-year examinations, were interested in the thousands of examination papers selling for a penny each. The papers went back to 1928 when Mr Lester first began collecting them. Mrs Lester said she would not miss the books when they were gone but had retained a few for her own use.
