Gifts For Patients At Sanatorium

The matron of the Cashmere Sanatorium (Miss D. Caldwell) gratefully acknowledges receipt of gifts foT patients from the following: “40046.” Miss Ladd. Mrs R. McDonald (Waikuku), and Mr Derritt, magazines; the Patriotic Fund Board, rnagazines and bedsox; the T.B. Associated Social Service, magazines and sweets; the Red Cross Society, sweets and gifts. Mias Caldwell also thanks members of the Cashmere Young Wives’ Club for taking elderly patients for drives.

Tuatara* Flown South.— Two tuartaras, believed to be weM over 100 yeans old, were flown by tihe National Airways Corporation to Dunedin and Invercargill last week, The tuataras were part of the zoo owned by Mr H. R. H. Long, of Ohiristohurch, which has now been dispersed. They were held under a special licence from the Department of Internal Affairs. Homes for the tuataras have been found in the Otago Museum and the Southland Museum.
