He secured a slender advantage racing to the final furlong and he tattled on gamely to win by a short length from Counit Mettoro which had every chance. Black Student made up ground for third half a length away just shading a bunch which included Sedway, Kevril, Stroll and bigihtn ing bil. Axis stood on the mark in toe second division and lost about 36 yards. He took advantage of the slow pace set by Anama in the middle stages and tad control with four furlongs and a half left. He was pacing easily racing to the straight and from then on he was not put to toe test winning unchallenged by three lengths from the lightly-supported Stand In, which had trailed to the straight and had every chance. Anama showed no fight in the straight and was five lengths back third, a length in front of Morse! with Radiant Storm and Count Dillala handiest of the others. Overdue Win Gay Jillian gained a long overdue win in the St. Vincent Handicap wihch was delayed for some minutes while a replacement driver was found for Invade. D. G. Black Braid, Quantrill. Meadow Jewel and Anahera at the straight entrance. Safe Return continued his run over the final furlong and held on well to win by a short length from Anahere
