TOUR BY TEAM FROM JAPAN
Short Visit To NZ In August Arrangement* for a very brief tour of New Zealand by a Japanese hockey team would be considered at a soecial meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association's management committee soon, the chairman of the committee (Mr A. D. Holland) reported in Christchurch last evening. Mr Holland said the Japanese team was expected to arrive in New Zealand about August 10 and would be in the country until the end of August. The team was coming without any cost, other than internal, to the New Zealand association. A letter from the secretary of the Japanese Hockev Association (Mr Kentaro Hiro), received by the association, said a touring party of 21 members would be arriving in Australia on July 25. “It is our intention to extend our trip to New Zealand to have matches with your team after its return home,” Mr Hiro said. The Japanese and New Zealand teams would be travelling together to New Zealand after the games in Australia, he said. Hie Japanese team planned to return home late in August after matches in the Dominion.
