ON A LUCERNE FARM.—Some 800 acres are in lucerne on the property of Watson and Topp, Ltd., at Waipara. Mr E. C. Topp (left) and his son-in-law, Mr L. H. Silcock, are shown last week with three two-and-a-half-ton rollers used to roll in stones on this naturally stony country to prevent damage to the mower when the stand is eventually cut for hay. This paddock was resown in lucerne last October.
