The School, under ths headship of Professor G. Besson, is composed of the Departments of Pure Mathematics (Professor to be appointed). Applied Mathematics (Professor J. M. Blatt), Mathematical Statistics (Prof. J. B. Douglas), and Engineering and General Mathematics (Associate Professor A. Keane). The School of Mathematics prepares students taking mathematics at pass and honours level in the Faculties of Arts and Science, In addition, a conaidable amount of mathematics is taught to students whose main interests are engineering and , applied science.
