U.S. Sells Pumps To Canada (N Z.P.A.-Router—Copyright) OTTAWA. June 8. The United States has agreed to let an American company sell 10 suction grain pumps to two tankers carrying Canadian grain to China, the Canadian Prime Minister (Mr Diefenbakeri told the House of Commons today. The United States had banned the sale of the equipment to Canada earlier on the ground that such a sale would violate acts which deny trade with China. Today. Mr Diefenbaker praised the United States administration for the "good sense” it had shown. Missing Person.—A single woman. Miss Peggy Middlet~n. aged 43, of 3 Flinders street, Timaru, has been missing front her home since 1! p.m. on Wednesday. Full-faced, of stout build, she has wavy light brown hair and is thought to be wearing a fawn or brown tweed coat. She has friends in Ashburton. but inquiries there have proved fruitless, according to the Timaru police.—(F.O.O.R.l
