Widows
Sir, —Since social security very rightly decrees that single beneficiaries, living alone, require a little more than half of the benefits received by a married couple, is not it time the Government Superannuation Department allowed a little more to widows of superannuitants than just half the total amount which would have been received had the husband lived? Could somebody please supply the name of the secretary of the Superannuitants’ Association of Christchurch?—Yours, etc., TRIX. June 8, 1961.
