Irish Ace To Try Comeback
"The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, June 8. The 11-year-old gelding Irish Ace. which will try a comeback, furthered his preparation by tackling the steeplechase fences down the middle at Ellerslie this morning. Ridden by J. Humphries. Irish Ace went with Galleon (Gibbs) over the sod wall double and stone wall in from ot the atands and after working on to No. 1 grass jumped the same fences cleanly again. Afterwards he had an engagement on the hunting field Evidently Irish Ace has managed a fair amount of work in the care of his trainer, L. W. Ford, because he took* well forward.
