.‘J-Year Tenn Allowed fNJE. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 8. Secondary school boards that desire to do so may choose a three-year term for their members instead of the present two-year term. A notice to this eSect was Gazetted tonight. The three-year rule will not operate until after the next school board election and sitting members' terms of service will expire at the end of the current two-year period. The change in the election procedure had been made at the request of the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Boards’ Association, said an official of the Department of Education tonight. Any other major change in the management of secondary schools would probably be left until the report of the current Commission on Education had been presented and considered, the official •aid.
