German Re-armament
Sir, —“we will remember
them” is the cry that goes up when we speak of the dead of two world wars. However, big business has no morals in this matter when it comes to the traffic in armaments. In today’s issue appears the news that Germany is buying £2O million worth of armaments from Great Britain. Exactly the same thing occurred before the last war, when our country supplied the Germans with much war equipment In Germany today the same old gang is back, with taperecorded renderings of Hitler's voice, and the tamp of marching feet Some of the men who occupy high positions are guilty of war crimes. They have sworn to revenge their defeat in the last war. Surely the New Zealand dead of two wars—--25.000 of them —means something to us.—Yours, etc., P.J.A. May 27. 1961.
