PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Oxford County Council at a Special Meeting held on May 24. 1961. approved an estimate pursuant to section 106 (2) Counties Act 1956 showing for the period of 12 months commencing on the first day of April, 1961, and ending on the thirty-first day of March. 1962: (1) The proposed expenditure of the said council:— £ <a) On administration including valuation. audit. insurance. etc. .. 2.905 lb) On roading works .. 55.875 (e) On plant renewals .. 7.215 (d) On miscellaneous works and services . • 15.045 Total .. 81.040 (2) Moneys available for the above purposes are:— (a) From credit balance 1/4/61 .. 5.145 (b) From rents, subsidies, etc. .. 31,480 (c) From licence fees, plant hire and miscellaneous .. 30.055 Total .. 66.680 (3) The addit’onal sum required is £14.360. (4) The total capital rateable value of all the property on the valuation rolls is £2.205.570 (5) The general rate thereon necessary to raise the sum required Is one and ninesixteenths of a penny (1 9-16th) in the pound (£) (6) Public Notice is also given that it is the Intention of the Oxford County Council at a meeting to be held in the County Chambers. Oxford, on Tuesday. June 20. 1961. at 8 p.m. to make and levy:— (i) A general rate of one and nine sixteenths of a penny (1 9-16th) in the pound (£) on the capital rateable value of all property appearing on the valuation rolls of the County of Oxford. (ii) A water supply rate of one shilling and fourpence per acre, with a minimum charge of one pound (£) nn all rateable property in the Eyre water race subdivision. (iii) A water supply flat rate of £2 10s. plus one shilling per acre after the first acre, on all rateable property in the Coopers and Gammons creek water race subdivisions. (iv) Such rates as the North Canterbury Catchment Board shall direct the Oxford County Council to collect on its behalf. (7) The above rates shall be for the period commencing on the first day of April. 1961, to the thirty-first day of March. 1962. and shall be due and payable in one sum on the thirty-first day of August. 1961. at the County Office. Oxford, where the valuation rolls are open for inspection during office hours. (8) A rebate of 5 per cent, on the genera] ana water supply rates will be allowed on such rates paid before the expiration of 30 days after the due date.
