Would yon all an age or teeth, all other things being equal? * s Always cull on teeth. In that way you gain the best economic use of a ewe. It has been established that certain strains of sheep (within breeds) have better teeth than others and these particular sheep go on producing quite well even above an average age. Also, il you continue culling on teeth, over a period of time you will select those sheep that have good teeth and this factor should breed on. The only drop in production from older sheep is about 1 lb. of wool per sheep. To offset this they tend to have a higher lambing percentage. Horehound Infestation Q : A 30 acre paddock of light land is getting worse with horehound every year. What will control it? * 1 Control of this weed can be obtained by overall spraying with Shell Weedkiller E at the rate of 4 pints per acre in 30 gallons of water, applied with boom spray equipment It should be noted, however, that this will retard clover although it is unlikely to kill well established clover plants. Better results may be obtained by spot spraying. For this use Shell Weedkiller B in a mixture of 1 gallon in 140 gallons of water applied so as to lightly but evenly wet the plants all over.
