Special Issue For Exhibition

Special souvenir poster stamps are to be issued to commemorate the 1961 National Philatelic Exhibition, which is to be held in Christchurch in August. Four stamps have been designed by Mr R. M. Conly. who designed the 2d Maori Runner stamp of the New Zealand Postal Centenary set. The stamps will be issued in miniature sheets of four, with each design symbolising the various Christchurch societies which have formed the committee to organise the exhibition.

One stamp shows the Christchurch Cathedral another shows a biplane and one of the latest jet aircraft in flight, a third is a design comprising stamped envelopes and a magnifying glass focused on the figures 1961. and the remaining stamp shows a child with a stamp album.
