Sharp Rises And Falls On ’Change
Several sharp price movements were recorded in business on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Thirteen rises and 13 falls occurred in the New Zealand section of the market, while five rises and 11 falls occurred among overseas 'hares. ' , ‘
The sharpest rise of the day was John Burns’s rise to 84s—the second 4s increase in the last month. Bruce Wool rose Is 9d to 62s 9d and Alex Harvey rose Is to 355. Mount Isa were up at 60s.
Giant Industries, in first business since announcement of the 4 per cent, interim dividend, fell Is 3d to Ils 9d. Silknit were Is down at 30s. British Tobacco were Is 3d down at 28s 3d and Colonial Sugar were 30s down at £74 10s. Woolworths Holdings fell 2s 3d in two weeks to 255.
