Congratulations By Farmers
A motion that “we extend our congratulations and our best wishes to The Press’ on its centenary” was carried bv ’he executive committee of North Canterbury Federated Farmers on Wednesday. " The Press’ is about to present its centennial issue to mark its • publication in Canterbury for 100 years.” said the president (Mr J F G. Blakely). "We are fortunate in having a newspaper of its standard in Canterbury. We are well served by The Press.’ Tn friy opinion it is the brtt paner I have seen anywhere,” he said
Mr Blakely then' moved the motion. It was seconded by Mr J U. McCracken. He said he had talked with many overseas visitors, and In their opinion “The Press" was surpassed onlv by ’The Times.” London.
