Rugby TOUR BY FIJIANS
Profit Target Of £15,000
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, May 22. The Australian Rugbv Union has set a target profit of £15.000 for the 14-match tour by the Fiji team.
This profit, confidently expected to be reached, would be a record for any team touring Australia.
The Fijians, always Australian favourites, hold the present record for tour profits in Australia. The 1954 team netted £12.500 profit. Australia takes 80 per cent, and Fiji 20 per cent, of the profit, after all costa (external and internal) are paid. The Australian Union netted £4lOO from South Africa in 1956. £l5OO from the All Blacks in 1957, and £5OOO from the Lions in 1959.
