Miler Now Free Of Foot Trouble
The high-class Riccarton miler Cheyenne is booked to race at the Dunedin winter meeting with his stablemates Francisco and Jimmy Hili. Cheyenne has been out of action for several weeks with foot trouble, but his trainer. V. D. Clutterbuck, believes there will be no more such setbacks.
It was found that Cheyenne was being badly bruised under the toe. and a change in shoeing is expected to put matters right.. Cheyenne’s foot was X-rayed before the trouble was pin-pointed. The Wingatui jockey. R. J. Skelton, will ride Francisco in maiden races at the Dunedin meeting. Skelton rode this promising two-year-old into a place behind Drake’s Treasure and Harewood in the Novice Stakes at Amberley last Saturday week.
