Promising Novice At Riccarton
Cheroot is one of the more promising novice hurdling recruita at Riccarton at present. He showed ability in two runs over the two pony hurdles at Riccarton yesterday. his jumping being fast, straight, and clean. He was ridden by J. L. Coulter. Cheroot, a well-grown Mainbrace gelding, lost form in the spring after starting the season promisingly with a close second to Supreme Effort in the Avonhead Handicap at the Grand National meeting. He is trained by A. J. Williams for Mrs Williams and Mr C. L. Champion.
