Surf Life-Saving TRAINING MASKS FOR CLUBS
Presentation By Rotary Club
Two training masks, used In teaching the new mouth-to-mouth method of resuscitation, were presented to each of the six surf clubs in Canterbury by Mr D V. Wilson on behalf of the Christchurch Rotary Club at the annual social and prizegiving ceremony of the Canterbury Surf Life-saving Association, held at Heathcote on Wednesday evening. A travelling bag was presented to Mr O. W. Pitcaithly on behalf of the association. Mr Pitcaithly recently retired from the position of secretary to the association after more than five years in office. Mr Pitcaithly plans to leave New Zealand on May 22 and settle tn Australia A member of the “21” Club and a life member of the Canterbury association. Mr L J Sutherland (Sumner), presented the trophies won during the last season The guest speaker was Dr. J. L. Moffat. Competition winners were as follows: Senior.—March past (Walker and Hal! Cup). The championship pennant for aggregate points gained in events throughout the season was won bv North Beach.
