WAGE INCREASES IN NEW AWARD
Hospital Laundry Workers
An increase of 6s 8d a week for senior male workers and 5s a week for juniors on the minimum award lias been granted to laundry workers, dyers and drycleaners employed by Canterbury hospital boards by the Court of Arbitration. Female workers have been granted an increase Of 3s 4d a week for junior workers and 5s a week tor senior workers. Leading hands, workers who have additional responsibility, will receive an additional 12s 6d a week and foremen and forewomen will receive an extra £1 4s 6d a week. The terms of the award, which were reached by the assessors in conciliation council, are retrospective to April 6, 1961, and will remain in force until October 6, 1962.
