Safe Return returned fastest time of 3nUn 20sec in three qualifying heats run at Addington yesterday by the Canterbury Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association. Raced by Mr C. L. Rhodes, ot Christchurch, he is trained at Templeton by L. C. Rooer. He is a grand-looking three-year-old gelding by Secure from Terytene, the dam also of Teryman and Terry Gowan. Angor, which is trained at Belfast by her part-owner, A. L. Mugford, made up a lot of ground to win the first heat in 3min 23sec. She is by Air Marshall from Lady Scott and looks a likely type. Tarurua was most Impressive when he won the third heat In 3min 22 4-ssec. He is one of the best-looking young pacers seen for some time. He I is a three-year-old colt by Ha: Tryax from a smart race mare in Poranui and is trained at Prebbleton by A. M. Purdon for Mr W. E. Desmond, president of the Owners’ and Breeders' Association.
