LOTTERY BARREL
End Of Use By Tatter sail’s
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE. May 1
Tattersall’s, the famous Australian lottery firm, have finished using a barrel which brought riches, and disappointments, to many New Zealanders.
The barrel was used by Tattersall’s when the Tasmanian office was opened in 1896.
Thel Melbourne manager of Tattersall’s. Mr D. Spotswood, said today that the barrel came to Melbourne from the Sydney office in 1954, after being used there for many years. It had been taken up to the fourth floor of the building where it would be kept in case of emergency, he said.
