WEST NEW GUINEA

Soekarno And Kennedy Meet MEXICO CITY, April 26. The President of Indonesia, Dr. Soekarno, arrived in Mexico yesterday from Washington after talks with President Kennedy. In a joint communique after the talks, the two Presidents said they had considered many world problem*, but they made no mention of their discussion of the West New Guinea issue. Indonesia claims Dutchadministered West New Guinea, and has threatened to take the territory by force if necessary. , United Press International said the West New Guinea issue found the United States caught between the Indonesians and the Dutch. The problem took up most of the three - hour conference between the Presidents. Later, the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Dr. Subandrio, said the Dutch must turn ovor the area to Indonesia, but he said be would agree to a United Nations trusteeship for a year or two.
