CONFERENCE AT LINCOLN
The Minister of Agriculture. Mr W. H. Gillespie, will be the guest speaker at the opening session of the Lincoln College farmers’ conference on May 17. At earlier conferences Mr Gillespie has been a speaker at the opening sessions in his former capacity as chairman of the college board of governors. This year he will be following his successor as chairman of the board, Mr T. D. J. Holderness.
Mr L. P. Chapman of Mt. Somers will again be chairman of the conference this year.
It has now been confirmed that the chairman of the Meat Board, Mr J. Ormond, will be contributing a paper in the course of a session on meat on the opening day of the conference and Dr. L. K. Whitten, parasitologist of the Wallaceville Animal Research Station, as well as Mr H. Doyle, livestock superintendent of the Department of Agriculture in Christchurch, will be giving papers on external parasites of sheep on the same day.
