82 Dogs In Show Eighty-two dogs were exhibited in the summer show of the Nelson District Kennel Association. Miss J. G. Edward'Welsh Corgi Glyndwr Rebel Knight was judged to be the best dog in the show and F. A Gleeson and Mrs Gleeson’s Dachshund Ferns Dante was runner-up. The puppy judged best was Miss A. Johnson’s Moerangi Mumble Jumble—a wire haired fox terrier. The judge was Mr S. D Geary, of Masterton. Local results were:— Cockers.—F. H. and Mrs West’s Ch. Red Shoes of Inverlock 8.0.8., challenge, runnerup sporting, first sporting and visitors’ stakes, third open stakes. Dachshund (Miniature).—Mrs H. Slade’s Ferns Mindia. best of breed, challenge. Dachshund.—Mrs E. Slade’s Brenva apstan, third limit stakes and Giselle Vom Dachshel challenge. third sporting and visitors’ stakes: F H. and Mrs Gleeson’s Ferns Dante, best of breed, challenge, best sporting first sporting, second open , stakes. Pugs.—F. H. and Mrs West’s Scarborough Smiley, best of breed, challenge, best toy. first toy stakes. Miniature Poodle.—Mesdames Gleeson and Anderson’s Albere de la Roche, challenge. Rough Coated Collie.—W. J Morris's Toby of Taff, challenge; F. Heaysman’s Tango of Taff, best of breed, challenge first puppy stakes, runner-up tc best puppy in show. Samoyed.—H. R. and Mrs Alford’s Ch. Kalina Wanderer, second visitors’ stakes. Engineering Study Awards <N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 19. Five of the 31 engineering study awards made this year by the Public Service. Commission were to Christchurch men. They are R. R. C. Donaldson, I. L. Ford. J. P. Geoghegan. J. M. F. Sewell, and R. B. Shepherd.
