FOUR YOUTHS’ OFFENCES
Two Given Terms Of Borstal Four youths, all aged 15. were convicted on a total of 110 offences, committed at centres from Christchurch to Bluff between October and February, when they appeared before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., at a sitting of the Children's Court last week. Two of the youths were sentenced to Borstal training and the other two were returned to the care of the Superintendent of the Child Welfare Department. The large number of offences against the youths, who were arrested in Invercargill, took the Court
clerk 35 minutes to read out. They included breaking and entering and theft, interfering with motor-cars and a bus. and conversion of cars, motor-cycles, and bicycles. The vehicles involved in the offences were valued at £3300.
