AUSTRALIAN XI MAKES 500
Tasmania Three For 69 (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HOBART. March 19. N. O’Neill and B. Booth hit centuries, and the openers. R. Simpson and W. Lawry, scored well for the Australian eleven against Tasmania in Hobart yesterday. The Australian eleven made 500 and Tasmania had lost three wickets for 69 at stumps on the first day of the second of two matches the Australian touring team is playing in Tasmania before leaving for England. O'Neill leached his century in even time before being caught at 123 Simpson made 78 in 52 minutes. Lawry 87 in 116 minutes, and Booth reached his century in 90 minutes, finishing with 128.
